Fear, an American punk rock band from Los Angeles, was formed in 1977 by singer and guitarist Lee Ving and bassist Derf Scratch. The group released their first single âI Love Livinâ in the Cityâ in 1978. Fear gained national prominence after a controversial performance on Saturday Night Live in 1981, which resulted in significant property damage and led to some clubs refusing to hire them. Their debut album, The Record, was released in 1982. The band's lineup changed frequently, with notable members including Flea of the Red Hot Chili Peppers on bass. Fear performed at the "Rock Against Reagan" protest concert in 1983 and released their second album, More Beer, in 1985. After disbanding in the 1990s, Fear reunited with original members Philo Cramer and Spit Stix in 2018.
