Flintlock, an English pop group from Essex, was formed in the early 1970s. The band consisted of Derek Pascoe (vocals/saxophone), Mike Holoway (drums/percussion), Jamie Stone (bass/vocals), John Summerton (guitar/vocals), and Bill Rice (keyboards). Initially known as The Young Revivals, the group changed their name to Flintlock after two years. Their breakthrough came through regular appearances on British children's television programs such as You Must Be Joking and Pauline's Quirkes. In 1975, they released their debut single "Learn To Cry" and their first album On The Way. The band achieved their only UK chart success with the single "Dawn", which peaked at Number 30 in 1976. Their subsequent albums included Hot From The Lock (1976), Tears 'N Cheers (1977), and Stand Alone (1979). For their final album, vocal problems led Derek Pascoe to take a more instrumental role, with Jimmy Edwards replacing him on lead vocals. After two small tours of Japan in 1980, Flintlock disbanded due to the rise of punk music. A one-off reunion concert took place in 2007. The band's four studio albums were re-released as a box set in 2022.
