Biography

The Corn Dollies were an English indie band from London formed in 1987. The group consisted of Steve Musham (vocals and guitar), Tim Sales (guitar), Steve Ridder (bass), Jack Hoser (drums), and Jono Podmore (violin). They met in King's Cross, although most members were from Dalston. Their first release was "Be Small Again", produced by Robert Forster on the Farm label, which reached number 28 on the UK Independent Chart. The band then released "Forever Steven" (1987) which peaked at number 16 on the same chart. They contributed a track to the various artist compilation Bananas! (1989), an album issued to support the Football Supporters Association campaign against the ID card scheme proposed by the UK Government. After Medium Cool collapsed, they moved to Midnight Music, releasing Wrecked (1989) and Past Caring (1991). The band split up in 1991.
