Biography

Tones on Tail was a British post-punk band formed in 1982 as a musical side project by Daniel Ash, guitarist of the gothic rock band Bauhaus. The group initially consisted of Ash and Glenn Campling, with drummer Kevin Haskins joining later. Their debut EP Tones on Tail was released on 4AD in 1982, followed by their first single "There's Only One!". In 1983, after Bauhaus disbanded, Tones on Tail became a full-time project for Ash, Campling, and Haskins. Their debut album Pop was released in 1984, featuring notable singles such as "Performance" and "Lions". The band embarked on a short US tour later that year before disbanding in October 1984. Tones on Tail's music has been featured in various media, including the TV show Beverly Hills, 90210 and films like Grosse Pointe Blank. The compilation album Everything! was released in 1998, featuring remastered tracks from their discography.
