The Bevis Frond, a psychedelic rock band from London, was formed in 1985 by Nick Saloman. After a motorcycle accident in 1982, Saloman used his compensation to set up a home studio and released The Auntie Winnie Album in 1989. The Bevis Frond's early albums were recorded at this home studio under their own label, Woronzow Records. In 1990, they signed with Reckless Records for the UK and US markets, which led to the re-release of their earlier works on CD and the production of Any Gas Faster. Notable collaborations include working with John Charles Alder (Twink) on Magic Eye in 1990. After a dispute with Reckless Records, Saloman returned to Woronzow Records for subsequent releases. The band continued to release albums regularly, including Weâre Your Friends, Man in 2018. In 2024, The Bevis Frond released the double album Focus on Nature, then stayed active onstage through 2024 and 2025, and in 2026 opened another chapter with Horrorful Heights, extending one of the longest and most idiosyncratic album runs in modern English psychedelic rock.
