Biography

Do Won-Kyoung, born on February 6, 1971, in Jeju Island, South Korea, debuted in 1993 with the song "My Youth in a Matchbox," which was featured in a TV commercial for chocolate. By 2009, she had released six albums. Some of her most popular songs include "My Youth in a Matchbox," "If I Were to Love Again," and "If This Rain That Drop in My Spirit Stops." Known for her signature stage look of a shiny leather jacket and skinny jeans, she was also famous for her energetic performances, such as smashing guitars and drums at concerts. In the 2000s, she formed her own band, Do Won Kyoung Band, but released only one album. Her unique rock-ballad style and distinctive voice often led to mega hits when collaborating with musician Kim Tae-won, a recognized guitarist and musician in the group Boohwal.
