Biography

Culture Kultür, a Spanish electronic music project from Málaga, formed in 1992. The group was founded by José Luis Clotet and Fran. Their early releases included the EPs Bass...Can You Hear Me? (1992) and F.T.W. (1993). The band evolved from an 1980s-like EBM sound to a more electro-oriented style. Singer Salva Maine joined in 1999. In the same year, Culture Kultür signed with Out of Line Records and supported the Mexican band Hocico on their Tierra Electrica '99 Tour. Their EP DNA Slaves (1999) reached number 10 on the DAC charts. The album Revenge (2001) featured hits that became club classics worldwide. In 2005, they released Reborn, which peaked at number 3 on the DAC charts and ranked number 29 out of the top 50 albums for that year. The project released the album Spirit in 2010. After a nine-year hiatus, Culture Kultür released the album Humanity in January 2019.
