Biography

Blaggards, an American Celtic rock band from Houston, Texas, formed in July 2004. The band was started by guitarist and singer Patrick Devlin, alongside bass player Chad Smalley, violinist Turi Hoiseth, and drummer Brian Vogel. They released their debut album Standards (2005), featuring notable songs like "Big Strong Man" and "Drunken Sailor". In 2010, Blaggards released the live album Live in Texas. They performed at South by Southwest in 2008 and had their music featured on Sirius Satellite Radio's Celtic Crush. Their recording of "The Irish Rover" was included in Larry Kirwan's compilation album Larry Kirwan's Celtic Invasion (2013). Blaggards' music was featured in films and television shows, including the British film The Kid (2010) and the CBS series The Good Wife. They released the album BLAGMATIC (2021).
