Biography

Gaelic Storm, an American Celtic band, was founded in 1996 in Santa Monica, California. The group initially consisted of Patrick Murphy, Steve Wehmeyer, Steve Twigger, Shep Lonsdale, Samantha Hunt, and Brian Walsh. Their breakthrough moment came in 1997 when they appeared in the film Titanic, performing traditional Irish songs such as "Blarney Pilgrim" and "Drowsy Maggie". These performances were featured on the movie's soundtrack album under the title "An Irish Party in Third Class". Gaelic Storm released their self-titled debut album Gaelic Storm in 1998, followed by Herding Cats in 1999. The band continued to release albums, including Tree (2001), Special Reserve (2003), and How Are We Getting Home? (2004). Their fifth album debuted at Number three on the Billboard World Music Charts. In 2006, they released their first DVD, Gaelic Storm: Live in Chicago, and continued with albums such as Bring Yer Wellies (2006) and What's The Rumpus? (2008), which reached Number one on the Billboard World Chart. Throughout their career, Gaelic Storm has maintained a consistent presence on the Billboard world music charts and has toured extensively across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, France, and Japan.
