Astrid Williamson, born on November 28, 1968, in Shetland, United Kingdom, is a Scottish singer and songwriter. She began playing the piano at an early age and graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama as a classically trained pianist. In the 1990s, Williamson formed the band Goya Dress with Terry de Castro & Simon Pearson, releasing EPs and the album Rooms in 1996 before disbanding in 1998. Her solo career began with the release of "I Am The Boy For You" from her debut album Boy For You in 1998. Williamson has since released several albums including Day Of The Lone Wolf, Here Come The Vikings, and Pulse. Notable collaborations include working with Arthur Baker, Lisa Gerrard, and Brendan Perry. Her compositions have been featured in films such as "Serving Sara" and she has performed at significant events like the D-Day remembrance event in 2015.
