Biography

Alton McClain and Destiny is an American disco girl group from Los Angeles, California. Formed in 1978, the trio consisted of Alton McClain, Delores Marie "D'Marie" Warren, and Robyrda Stiger. The group signed to Polydor Records in the same year and released their debut album It Must Be Love early in 1979, initially under a self-titled release which was later repackaged. The title track "It Must Be Love" charted successfully but the second album did not sell well. Less than a year after its release, the group was dropped by Polydor Records and disbanded in 1981. Following the split, McClain continued her career as a gospel singer, releasing albums such as God's Woman in 1995 and Renaissance in 2005. Warren and Stiger joined Epic Records as part of the girl group Krystol, which included Tina Scott and Karon Floyd. The group released two albums produced by Leon Sylvers III before Warren died in a car crash on February 22, 1985.
