Jimmy Bo Horne, born Jimmie Horace Horne Jr. on September 28, 1949, in West Palm Beach, Florida, is an American musician and singer. He completed a sociology degree at Bethune-Cookman University in Daytona Beach before moving to Miami to pursue his music career. His initial breakthrough came with the release of "Gimme Some (Part One)" in 1975, which later became a British Top-20 hit for Brendon. Horne's career peaked in the late 1970s when he released several successful disco and pop songs under labels like Alston Records and Sunshine Sound Records, a subsidiary of TK Records. His most notable hits include "Dance Across The Floor" (1978), which reached Number 10 on the R&B charts and was certified Double Gold, and "You Get Me Hot" (1979). Other popular tracks from this period include "Spank", "Get Happy", and "Let Me (Let Me Be Your Lover)". These songs were featured on television shows such as Soul Train and American Bandstand, and in various sitcoms. His last R&B charting single was "Is It In" in 1980. Horne's music has been sampled by numerous artists, including CeeLo Green and Christina Aguilera for their duet "Nasty", and DJ Falcon for his song "First". Following his music career, Horne ventured into event management, founding Joy Productions in 1976. He made a rare live appearance at the Baltic Soul Weekender #17 in Germany on May 6, 2023.
