Known for their blend of disco and soul, Ã La Carte was a British girl group based in Germany, active from 1978 to 1984. The trio initially consisted of Patsy Fuller, Julia, and Elaine, all Scottish singers. Their first single, "When the Boys Come Home", released in March 1979, gained significant traction after a performance on the television show Musikladen, propelling them to popularity in Germany. The group's lineup frequently changed with new singles; Jenny Renshaw became the sole permanent member when she joined in October 1979. Ã La Carte's debut album Do Wah Diddy Diddy Round was released in March 1980, featuring their hit single "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" which became one of their most recognizable tracks. By 1981, the group included Jenny Renshaw, Linda Daniels, and Joy Martin, who together released the album Viva later that year. In 1983, they recorded Rockin' Oldies, featuring covers of 1960s hits. Notable singles include "Do Wah Diddy Diddy" (1980), which peaked at number 22 in Germany, and "Viva Torero" (1981). The group disbanded in 1984 with the lineup of Jenny Renshaw, Joy Martin, and Katie Humble.
