ZIGZO, a Japanese rock supergroup, was formed in April 1999. The group consisted of Tetsu Takano on vocals and rhythm guitar, Ryoji "Ryo" Okamoto on lead guitar, Hiroyuki "Den" Onishi on bass, and Yasunori "Sakura" Sakurazawa on drums. Each member came from prominent bands, bringing a wealth of experience to the group. ZIGZO's debut single "Chi to Ase to Namida no Uragawa no Happy" was released in July 1999, marking their entry into the music scene. Their first album, Monster Music, followed in October of the same year. In September 2000, ZIGZO released their second album, add9 Suicide. The group continued to release notable singles such as "Himawari" and "WALK". Despite their popularity in the indie scene, ZIGZO disbanded on March 16, 2002. Their greatest hits album, Got ''S'' and dis-star -Best of ZIGZO-, was released in January 2002. After a hiatus, ZIGZO reunited in November 2011 with a surprise performance at Sakura's birthday concert. They officially restarted activities on March 17, 2012, releasing their third studio album The Battle of Love later that year. The band continued to release albums, including True Impulse in July 2013 and Forever Young in July 2014. Their fifth full album, Across the Horizon, was released in June 2021. Throughout their career, ZIGZO achieved notable chart success with singles like "Himawari" reaching Number 43 on the Oricon Singles Chart and albums such as Monster Music peaking at Number 25 on the Oricon Albums Chart.
