Yuki Uchida, born 内田 有紀 on November 16, 1975, in Tokyo, Japan, is a Japanese singer and actress. She began her career as a model and actress in 1992, gaining attention for her distinctive short hair and raspy voice. Her breakthrough in music came with the release of her first single "TENCAを取ろう!—内田の野望—" on October 21, 1994. Uchida's debut album 純情可憐乙女模様 was released on February 8, 1995, followed by several successful albums and singles, including "Only You" and "BABY’S GROWING UP" in 1995. She collaborated with composer Tetsuya Komuro on many of her hits. Uchida's music career spanned from 1994 to 1999, during which she achieved significant chart success and held the record for the highest-selling debut album by a female artist until 2006. Her notable albums include MI‐CHEMIN (1995), 愛のバカ (1996), and nakitakunalu (1996). Uchida also starred in numerous films and dramas, often taking on leading roles. She retired from the entertainment industry in 2002 following her marriage but returned to acting in 2007 with roles in films like Quiet room ni yôkoso and dramas such as Bambino! and Iryu: Team Medical Dragon.
