Mami Ayukawa (é®å·éº»å¼¥)âborn Masami Katou (å è¤é
å¼¥) on 29 March 1961, in Shinjuku, Tokyoâis a renowned Japanese singer-songwriter celebrated for her significant contributions to the anime canon in the 1980s. She debuted in 1984 with "Kaze no No Reply," the second opening theme for the TV series Heavy Metal L-Gaim. Her prominence on the anime scene was further solidified with "Zeta â Toki wo Koete," the first opening theme for Mobile Suit Zeta Gundam in 1985, and "Yume Iro Chaser," the opening theme for Metal Armor Dragonar in 1987. She has continued to release music sporadically since then, with albums such as 1990's 101çªç®ã®æ = Hundred And First Love, 2014's 1984, in 2019, a joint release with Hiroki Moriguchi called "HATENAIANOSORAE" and in 2020, a new solo single called "Hoshizora no Believe."
