Yawning Man, an American experimental rock band from La Quinta, California, was formed in 1986 by Gary Arce, Alfredo Hernández, Mario Lalli, and Larry Lalli. The group initially gained attention for their marathon jam sessions held in garages and desert venues around the Coachella Valley, influencing notable figures such as John Garcia and Josh Homme. Their first official release was Rock Formations (2005), followed by the EP Pot Head. The band's subsequent albums include Historical Graffiti (2016) and The Revolt Against Tired Noises (2018). Yawning Man has also collaborated with other artists, notably releasing the album Ceremony to the Sunset under the name Yawning Sons in 2009. In 2010, they released Nomadic Pursuits, which featured cover art by Hernández. In 2025, the band released Pavement Ends on Heavy Psych Sounds Records, featuring the single "Bomba Negra", and supported the album with a European tour.
