Jessamine was an American post-rock ensemble from Galion established in 1992. The group consisted of the musicians Andy Brown, Michael Faeth, Rex Ritter, and Dawn Smithson. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style characterized by post-rock, space rock, and experimental rock. Their recording career began with the single âCellophaneâ (1994) which achieved professional recognition for receiving airplay on the radio station KCMU in Seattle. The ensemble achieved professional recognition for the debut eponymous studio recording Jessamine (1995) released on the label Kranky. Their discography included the studio recording The Long Arm of Coincidence (1996). Jessamine achieved professional recognition for the compilation recording Another Fictionalized History (1997) which featured a collection of their singles. Their recording career included the studio recording Don't Stay Too Long (1998). The group became inactive in 1998. The musicians Ritter and Brown achieved professional recognition for performing in the ensemble Fontanelle.
