Toby Driver, born on September 29, 1978, in Meriden, Connecticut, is an American musician and composer. He started his musical journey at a young age, learning clarinet and piano, and later recorded several albums under the moniker "Spoonion" during high school. In 1996, Driver formed Maudlin of the Well with Jason Byron and Greg Massi, releasing their debut album My Fruit Psychobells...A Seed Combustible in 1999. The band's style, described as "astral metal," incorporated themes of astral projection and the occult. In 2003, Driver transitioned to Kayo Dot, a project that has released several full-length albums, including Choirs of the Eye (2003) and Blasphemy (2019). His solo work includes Ichneumonidae (2014) and Madonnawhore (2017).
