Biography
Pharaoh Overlord is a Finnish experimental rock band from Pori, formed in 2000 by Jussi Lehtisalo, Janne Westerlund and Tomi Leppänen. The group began as a vehicle for their love of stoner rock but evolved to include elements of krautrock and avant-garde music. Their debut album #1 was released in 2000, followed by II in 2003. The band's live performances gained attention, particularly the 2007 live album Live in Suomi Finland, which featured contributions from krautrock pioneer Hans Joachim Irmler and regular collaborators Julius Jääskeläinen and Pekka Jääskeläinen. The band released further albums including Siluurikaudella (2010) and 6000 km/h (2014). The band's lineup changed over the years, becoming a duo consisting of Lehtisalo and Leppänen by 2019. Notable releases during this period include 5 (2019), 6 (2020) and Louhi (2025).
