Biography

Joel Wesley Morgan, known professionally as Wess Morgan, was born on September 5, 1973, in Moss Point, Mississippi. Raised in Nashville, Tennessee, Morgan began his music career in 2006 with the release of Look at Me Now by Oak Tree Records. His breakthrough came with Under an Open Heaven, Vol. 1, released on October 19, 2010, by Bowtie World Music alongside Flipside Music. This album debuted at number 10 on Billboard's Gospel Albums chart and featured the single "I Choose to Worship,", which reached number 4 on the Hot Gospel Songs chart and was included in the WOW Gospel 2012 compilation. Morgan continued his success with Under an Open Heaven, Vol. 2, released on December 11, 2012, which charted at number 31, and Livin', released in 2014 by Bowtie Music, which reached number 6 on the Gospel Albums chart.
