Biography

Jason Nelson is an American pastor and gospel singer born in Baltimore, Maryland, on November 10, 1974. The son of a pastor himself, he is also the twin brother of Jonathan Nelson, who made his debut at the same time. Released in 2005 on the independent Jaelyn Son Records label, Jason Nelson's debut album, I Shall Live, was followed in 2008 by Place of Worship, before the artist signed with Verity Records for the next, Shifting the Atmosphere (2012), which reached #3 on the gospel charts and #79 on the Billboard 200. Its successor, Jesus Revealed (2015), inaugurates his contract with RCA Inspiration and reaches the top of the gospel charts. Very well received by the critics, it is followed three years later by The Answer. Three years pass before Jason Nelson returns under the Fair Trade Services banner with the album Close (2021), followed by the live recording You Belong (2024), from which the hit "Yahweh" is extracted, charting at No. 14 in the gospel charts.
