Biography
John Prince Kee, born June 4, 1962 in Durham, North Carolina, is an American gospel singer and pastor. He began developing his musical talents both instrumentally and vocally at a young age. In the mid-1980s, Kee formed the New Life Community Choir (NLCC) in Charlotte, which grew in popularity and continued to travel throughout the area. His first solo album, Yes Lord, was released in 1987. Kee founded the Victory in Praise Music and Arts Seminar Mass Choir, or "V.I.P.," in 1990 to fellowship with various ministries. He released several albums including Just Me This Time (1990), Colorblind (1994), and The Color of Music (2004). In 2007, Kee was inducted into the Christian Music Hall of Fame. His notable works include The Legacy Project (2011), Level Next (2015) and I Made It Out (2019). Kee received the BMI Trailblazer of Gospel Music Award in 2025. That year saw the released of the single "Church Medley", which reached number 29 on the Top 30 Gospel Airplay.
