Biography
Gospel musician and composer J. Moss was born in Detroit, Michigan to gospel singer Bill Moss Sr. and young James spent much of his childhood on tour with his father and his band, Bill Moses And The Celestials. James and his brother Bill Jr. would perform together as The Moss Brothers and spent their weekends learning the ropes of the music industry. Although wishing to further his academic education, after a short time at university Moss knew that his passion lay in songwriting and so returned home to begin penning the tunes in his head. When he met Paul Allen and Walter Kearney, the three decided to join forces and created PAJAM, a collaborative songwriting trio specialising in religious gospel. In 2003, after many years of putting his writing before his performing, Moss decided to get back in front of the microphone and so was born The J. Moss Project, Moss's debut solo album. His second album, V2, was released in 2007 and features collaborations with Kirk Franklin, Byron Cage and Anthony Hamilton. Two years later, Moss's third album was released, and with it the singles Restored/I Gave It Up and Rebuild, which both performed well in the charts. Moss continues to write and record gospel hits and his fourth album, V4... The Other Side Of Victory, was released in 2012.
