Biography
We Are The City was a Canadian rock band formed in 2008 in Kelowna, Canada. The group consisted of the singer and keyboardist Cayne McKenzie, the drummer Andrew Huculiak, and the guitarist David Menzel. Their musical style was characterized as progressive rock. In 2009, the band received a prize of $150,000 for winning the Peak Performance Project contest. Their debut album, In a Quiet World, was released in 2009. Their discography includes the EP High School (2011) and the album Violent (2013), the latter of which marked the return of Menzel to the group. The band composed the score for the film Violent (2014), which received critical recognition after its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival. Their recordings include the single âKeep On Dancingâ (2015) and the album Above Club (2015). Subsequent releases include At Night (2018) and their final album, RIP (2020). The group disbanded in 2020.
