Discovered on the Grammy-nominated Fleet Foxes album, soul and folk singer Uwade made a name for herself by opening for artists such as Jamila Woods, Sylvan Esso and The Strokes, before appearing in the playlists of digital platforms. Real name Uwade Akhere, the Nigerian-born singer and guitarist is also studying classics at Columbia University, followed by a doctorate in California. After the release of a first single in 2019, "Nostalgia", other titles emerge including "The Man Who Sees Tomorrow" in 2021 and "Do You See the Light Around Me?" in 2022. Released in 2025 and charting on alternative radio, "Call It a Draw" paved the way for the album Florilegium.
