Tori Kelly is an American R&B-pop singer and songwriter, born Victoria Loren Kelly on December 14, 1992 in Wildomar, California. She first drew attention as a young performer on television talent shows including Star Search, Americaâs Most Talented Kids and American Idol, before releasing the self-made EP Handmade Songs in 2012. Her 2013 EP Foreword reached number 16 on the Billboard 200, and she built a wider live profile through support slots with artists such as Ed Sheeran and Sam Smith. In 2014, she appeared on Professor Greenâs "Lullabye", a UK Top 5 single, before releasing her debut album Unbreakable Smile in 2015, which reached number 2 on the Billboard 200 and led to a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. After appearing on Chris Laneâs country hit "Take Back Home Girl" in 2017, Kelly turned toward gospel with Hiding Place in 2018, which won the 2019 Grammy Award for Best Gospel Album, while "Never Alone" won Best Gospel Performance/Song. She followed with the personal pop album Inspired by True Events in 2019, the EP Solitude in 2020 and the Babyface-produced holiday album A Tori Kelly Christmas later that year. After performing with Andrea Bocelli on his 2023 special The Journey: A Music Special from Andrea Bocelli, Kelly signed with Epic Records and returned with the Y2K-inspired single "Missin U". It led into her fifth studio album, Tori., released in 2024 with guests including Ayra Starr, Kim Chae-won and Jon Bellion, and supported by the Purple Skies Tour. In 2025, she joined JVKE on "this is what floating feels like". In 2026, Kelly released God Must Really Love Me, a faith-centered album led by "Control" and "Dive", and announced the God Must Really Love Me Europe Tour.
