Union Jack, a French skaâpunk group originating from the northern suburbs of Paris, was formed in 1997 with guitaristâvocalist, bassistâsinger Rude Ben, and drummer Skrack; the lineup later added a saxophonist in 2000. Their early releases included the demos Yellinâ in Your Ears (2001), Live at the Beer Squat (2002), and Bad Ska (2002), followed by the EP You Donât Really Know Who I Am in 2004. In 2009 the band issued its debut studio album Tales of Urban Freedom, which established their âbad skaâ style and led to tours across Europe and Canada with acts such as The Damned, UK Subs, and The Aggrolites. Subsequent albums were Never Ending Struggle (2012), Supersonic (2017), Violence (2019), and Acid Serenades (2025), each expanding their international presence. Union Jackâs consistent touring, collaborations with punk contemporaries, and persistent output have cemented their position within the global skaâpunk scene.
