April Harper Grey (born April 21, 2000, Sanâ¯Francisco, California) is an American singerâsongwriter and producer who performs as underscores. She began releasing dubstep tracks on SoundCloud at thirteen, later expanding into popâpunk, hyperpop, and electronic dance music. Greyâs early EPs-Skin Purifying Treatment (2018), We Never Got Strawberry Cake (2019), and Character Development! (2020)-established her experimental style. In March 2021 she released her debut album Fishmonger, followed by the companion EP Boneyardâ¯AKAâ¯Fearmonger (Decemberâ¯2021). Her second studio album, Wallsocket, dropped on Septemberâ¯22,â¯2023 under Momâ¯+â¯Pop, accompanied by an alternate reality game and a North American headlining tour. In Marchâ¯2026 she issued her third album U. Underscores has toured with 100â¯gecs, performed at Lollapalooza, and received critical acclaim from outlets such as The Atlantic and NME, marking her as a notable figure in contemporary electronic scene.
