Biography

Treble Charger are a Canadian rock band from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, formed in 1992. The ensemble was founded by vocalist and guitarist Greig Nori, Bill Priddle, Rosie Martin, and Morris Palter, originally performing under the name NC-17. They achieved professional recognition for a musical style transitioning from melodic indie rock to pop-punk. They released their debut studio album, NC17 (1994), independently before signing with RCA Records in 1996. Their major label debut, Maybe It's Me (1997), featured the track “Friend of Mine” (1997) and was certified gold in Canada. Their recording career includes the studio recording Wide Awake Bored (2000), which reached number 9 on the Canadian charts and featured the tracks “American Psycho” (2000) and “Brand New Low” (2001). They followed this with the studio recording Detox (2002), which reached number 10. The ensemble became inactive in 2006 but resumed activity in 2012. Between 1996 and 2016, they were ranked among the top 150 selling Canadian artists in Canada.
