Biography

I Mother Earth, a Canadian rock band from Toronto, Ontario, formed in 1990 when brothers Christian and Jagori Tanna met singer Edwin. The group initially went by IME but later changed their name to I Mother Earth. In 1992, they traveled to Los Angeles to record their debut album Dig with producer Mike Clink. The album, released in August 1993, featured the singles "Rain Will Fall" and "Not Quite Sonic" and won a Juno Award for "Best Hard Rock Album" in 1994. Their second album Scenery and Fish, released mid-1996, was certified double-platinum. After Edwin's departure in 1997, Brian Byrne joined as the new lead vocalist. The band went on hiatus in 2003 and returned to the music scene in January 2012 with a new album Stoned Woman released in September of that year.
