Biography
Born in Aurora, Indiana, in 1988, blues singer and guitarist Travis Bowlin grew up in Ohio and came into contact with music in the Cincinnati Boys Choir, before learning to play guitar. In between covers of blues standards, he wrote his own songs and performed in the surrounding states, when in 2012 he signed his first contract as an independent artist. Settled in Nashville, in 2014 he released his first single "Bad Bad Man", which received extensive radio airplay and made a few appearances on local TV stations. On the strength of this growing notoriety, he followed up with the singles "Got the Goods" (2014) and "See You Again" (2015), then produced the electric album Secundus (2018) in between tours. In 2022, he takes his first steps on the Grand Ole Opry stage, where he receives the Josie Music Award in the jazz and blues category. He created his own festival, Travis Bowlin's Cigar Box Guitar Music & Art Festival, then set about recording the album Hooks & Grooves, tinged with the gospel of his childhood. Released in 2024, the album reached No. 1 in the American blues charts.
