Biography

A native of Carencro, Louisiana, Marc Broussard was born on January 14, 1982. Son of guitarist Ted Broussard, a member of The Boogie Kings, he began his solo career in 2002 with the album Momentary Setback, before signing with Island Records for the follow-up Carencro (2004), whose video for the second single "Home" recounts the devastating passage of Hurricane Katrina. Invited to compilations in honor of Bruce Springsteen in 2003, Randy Newman in 2006 and Fats Domino in 2007, the guitarist produced the first part of a series, S.O.S.: Save Our Soul, in which he covers soul classics. In 2008, he inaugurated a new contract for the Atlantic label with the album Keep Coming Back, followed by Marc Broussard (2011), from which "Lucky" is taken . He returned to the Vanguard label with Life Worth Living (2014), an acoustic album that was one of his best sellers, before recording four albums for G-Man Records, including the 2nd and 3rd instalments in his series, S.O.S. 2: Soul on a Mission (2016) and S.O.S. 3: A Lullaby Collection (2019), aimed at young audiences. In 2023, Joe Bonamassa takes part in the 4th part of S.O.S. 4: Blues for Your Soul, which precedes the album Time Is a Thief (2024).
