Biography

Antonio Astarita, born Antonio Astarita on April 14, 1939 in Naples, Italy, was an Italian Canzone Napoletana singer. He made his official debut in 1962 by participating in a contest for upcoming singers. In 1965, Astarita won the Festival di Napoli with "Serenata all'acqua 'e mare" alongside Aurelio Fierro. Throughout his career, Astarita participated in notable musical events such as Canzonissima and Un disco per l'estate, where he launched the hit "La cotta". His discography includes albums like Serenata 'mbriaca, Tony Astarita, and 'Nu poco e Napule. Astarita passed away on April 15, 1998.
