Tim Bendzko (born April 9, 1985 in East Berlin) is a German singer-songwriter who has been passionate about music from an early age. The man from Köpenick was already playing guitar at the age of 11 and wrote his first songs at 16. In 2009, he entered the Söhne Mannheims talent competition Söhne gesucht and won. Soon afterwards, he signed a record deal with Sony Music and released his first single "Nur Noch Kurz Die Welt Retten" in May 2011, which immediately reached number 2 in the German charts. Shortly afterwards, he released his debut album Wenn Worte Meine Sprache Wären (2011), which reached number 4 in the German charts. The single and album are a commercial success and are awarded gold and platinum several times throughout the DACH region. In September 2011, Tim Bendzko wins the Bundesvision Song Contest with the song "Wenn Worte Meine Sprache Wären" from his debut album of the same name. A few months later, he was awarded the Bambi for Best Newcomer and received the Echo in the same category in 2012. His follow-up album Am Seidenen Faden followed in May 2013 and reached number 1 in the German charts. The album is a huge success and goes double platinum in Germany. In 2014, Tim Bendzko wins the Echo in the national rock/pop category. His third album Immer Noch Mensch (2016) also reaches the top position in the German charts and is awarded gold. The single "Keine Maschine" (2016) charted at number 14 in the German charts and also achieved gold status. His album Filter (2019) reaches number 3 in the German album charts, the single "Hoch" (2019) reaches number 10 in the German single charts and goes gold in Germany and platinum in Austria. After a short break, Tim Bendzko returns in 2023 with the album April. The album reaches number 13 in the German charts. At the beginning of 2026, the singer starts the new year with the album Alles, nur nicht zurück.
