Sasha (born Alexander Paul Coe on 4 September 1969 in Bangor, Wales) is a legendary British DJ, producer, and electronic music innovator whose work has shaped the landscape of progressive house and dance music for over three decades. Widely regarded as one of the pioneers of the progressive house genre, Sasha's career spans a diverse range of electronic music styles, blending atmospheric melodies, intricate production, and cutting-edge sound design. After immersing himself in the acid house scene of the late 1980s, he emerged in the early 1990s and gained prominence alongside fellow UK DJs such as John Digweed, with whom he formed a formidable partnership that helped redefine the global club scene. Known for his seamless mixing, technical prowess, and emotive track selection, Sasha became synonymous with the evolution of progressive houseâa genre marked by deep, layered sounds and dynamic, evolving buildups.
