Biography

Lea is a German singer-songwriter who was born Lea Marie-Becker on July 9, 1992 in Kassel, where she grew up around a music therapist. Even before Lea graduated from high school, she founded her own social media channel on which she regularly published videos. In these videos, Lea can be seen playing self-written songs on the piano. The then 15-year-old celebrated her first success with her ballad "Wo ist die Liebe hin", which was viewed more than 2.93 million times on social media. The label Four Music became aware of Lea as a result and released her first album Vakuum in 2016. This was followed by appearances with Glasperlenspiel and Seven and her first tour in 2017. In the same year, the German DJ duo Gestört aber Geil produced a remix of "Wohin willst du?", which reached number 11 in the German singles charts. This release can be described as Lea's breakthrough. Her songs "Leiser", "Zu Dir" and "Immer wenn wir uns sehen", which were released shortly afterwards, also achieved gold or platinum status in Germany. Since then, Lea has released many songs that have achieved streams in the double-digit million range. These include the single "110", for which Lea teamed up with rapper Capital Bra. in 2020, she and her manager founded the label 'Treppenhaus Records', which is based at Four Music. Her first and most successful signing to date is the singer Luna. Lea lived in Hanover until 2018. Since 2018 she has lived in Berlin, where she also recorded her gold-winning album Zwischen meinen Zeilen and her album Fluss, released in 2021. On it, she sings about personal experiences and reflects on the processing of feelings. Her fifth album Bülowstrasse followed in May 2023 (number 5 in Germany), which deals thematically with growing up and the challenges of youth. The single "Fuchs", which was released in the run-up to the album, offers an insight into the nostalgic and introspective style of the album. Her most recent single "Danke, dass es Dich gibt", released in July 2024, is one of her most personal tracks to date. The album Von der Schönheit und Zerbrechlichkeit der Dinge will follow in October 2024.
