Biography

Thee Mighty Caesars, a British garage rock group from Chatham, England, was formed in 1985 by Billy Childish following the dissolution of The Milkshakes. The band's sound blended 1960s guitar tones with punk energy, influencing numerous American garage and grunge bands. Their debut album, Thee Mighty Caesars, released in 1985, was followed by Beware The Ides Of March the same year. In 1986, they released Thee Caesars Of Trash and Acropolis Now, which featured members of The Delmonas. Notable releases include the live album Live in Rome (1987) and Wiseblood (1987). The band's career was temporarily halted after the release of John Lennon’s Corpse Revisited in 1989, with Childish later forming Thee Headcoats. In 2013, a two-CD compilation featuring The Caesars Of Trash and Wiseblood was published.
