The Subs, a Belgian electronic music band founded in 2006 by Jeroen "Papillon" De Pessemier and Wiebe "Tonic" Loccufier, gained early success with underground club hits. Their breakthrough came in 2008 with the raw punktrance track "Kiss My Trance", which topped commercial charts and was picked up by influential DJs. The band released their debut album, Subculture, later that year on the Belgian Lektroluv label. In early 2010, they achieved their first gold record in Belgium with the single "The Pope of Dope" featuring Party Harders. They released their second studio album, Decontrol in 2011 and earned their second gold record with the track "Face of the Planet". They then received their third gold record with "Zanna". The Subs continued to evolve musically with their third album, Hologram (2014). Known for their energetic live performances, The Subs have played at venues across Europe, Australia, Singapore, and Thailand, including notable festivals like Rock Werchter, Tomorrowland, and Pukkelpop.
