Biography
The Regiment was an American hip-hop duo from Detroit. Formed in 2006, the group was founded by rappers O.S.I. and C.Reid, who grew up in the same neighborhood on the cityâs west side. After C.Reidâs departure, IseQold joined the ensemble in 2008. The duo released its first major recording, The Come Up, in 2007 through the label Rawkus Records. Their recording history included the studio album A New Beginning (2009), which featured the single âOld School Vibeâ and the track âAbstractâ. The latter recording was identified on the iTunes Indie Spotlight and reached number 8 on its Best of 2009 list. In 2010, the ensemble issued the EP A New Change, recorded as a collaboration with Soulution. Their subsequent releases included the EP First Mondays (2011) and the studio album The Panic Button (2011), the latter of which received an honorable mention from DJ Premier. The group released the studio album Live from the Coney Island in 2014 through the label Soul Tools Entertainment. The duo became inactive in 2016.
