Biography
The Hirsch Effekt, a German band from Hannover, was formed in 2008 by Nils Wittrock and Ilja Lappin. They released their debut EP, The Hirsch Effekt, in 2009. The band gained attention through orchestral references that broke conventions of emocore and mathcore. In 2010, they released their first full-length album, Holon : Hiberno. They signed with Kapitän Platte in February 2011 for the vinyl release of Holon : Hiberno and collaborated with Caleya on the split EP Perigæum / Apogæum. The band released their second album, Holon : Anamnesis, in 2012. They performed at Wacken Open Air in August 2017. Their fourth album, Eskapist, was released in 2017 and peaked at number 21 on the German charts. In 2023, they released their album, Urian, and Der Brauch in 2026.
