Biography
Turbostaat is a German punk rock band that was founded in Husum in 1999 and is now based in Flensburg. The band consists of Jan Windmeier (vocals), Marten Ebsen (guitar), Roland Santos (guitar), Tobert Knopp (bass) and Peter Carstens (drums). Their debut album Flamingo was released in 2001, followed by Schwan in 2003. With Vormann Leiss (2007) and Das Island Manöver (2010) they cemented their reputation in the German punk scene. The album Stadt der Angst was released in 2013, followed by Abalonia in 2016. Their live album Nachtbrot was released in 2019 A year later, Turbostaat released another studio album, Uthlande. After a short creative break, the punk rockers returned at the beginning of 2025 with Alter Zorn. The album climbed to number 5 in the German charts.
