Van Holzen, a German rock band from Ulm, was founded in January 2015 by Florian Kiesling, Jonas Schramm, and Daniel Kotitschke. The trio had previously performed under the name Rockfish since 2009, playing more than 200 concerts. In early 2015, they signed with the booking agency Sparta Entertainment and participated in the PopCamp program of the German Music Council. Their breakthrough came with their self-titled EP Van Holzen, released in 2016 under Warner Music. The band's debut album Anomalie, released in March 2017, reached number 48 on the German charts. Van Holzen has toured extensively across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, often as a supporting act for bands like Billy Talent and Royal Blood. They have also released several singles, including "Herr der Welt" (2016). The band has won notable awards such as the Förderpreis Junge Ulmer Kunst in 2015 and the Play Live band promotion award the same year.
