Biography

Twelve Foot Ninja, an Australian band from Melbourne, was formed in 2008 by guitarist Steve Mackay and drummer Shane Russell. The group's unique name is derived from a story about a ninja who can grow up to twelve feet tall. Singer Kin Etik joined after discovering the band online and contributing his vocals. Their first EP, New Dawn, was released in 2008, followed by Smoke Bomb in 2010. The band's debut album, Silent Machine, was released in 2012 and reached number 53 on the Australian ARIA Charts. Their second studio album, Outlier, was released in 2016. The band announced their indefinite hiatus in July 2022 and officially disbanded on July 11, 2024, with the release of their acoustic album Mutant Dreams & Face Transplants: An Acoustic Experience.
