The Classic Crime is an American rock band from Seattle, Washington, formed in 2004. Their debut album, Albatross, was released in 2006 and marked a commercial breakthrough where they achieved record-breaking debut sales for Tooth & Nail Records. The band followed this success with the releases of The Silver Cord in 2008 and Vagabonds in 2010. After they departed their label in 2011, the group transitioned to an independent, fan-funded model, utilizing Kickstarter to produce their fourth studio album, Phoenix, in 2012. Their subsequent releases include the anniversary collection What Was Done: Vol. 1: A Retrospective (2014), How to Be Human (2017), and Patterns in the Sky (2023).
