Biography

The country musician Kane Brown was born on October 21, 1993, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Although interested in R&B during his high school years, he began building an audience by posting his own performances of country covers online, and he continued pursuing country music with his debut EP, Closer, in 2015. "Used to Love You Sober," his debut single, reached Number 15 on the Hot Country Songs chart that same year and eventually went platinum. In 2016, he released his self-titled debut album, which went to Number 1 on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and reached double-platinum status. The album featured the singles "What If's" and "Heaven," both of which climbed to Number 1 in America. His second album, Experiment, also reached Number 1 in 2018, topping both the Billboard 200 and the Top Country Albums chart. Brown's third EP, Mixtape, Vol. 1, arrived in 2020 and reached Number 2 on the Top Country Albums chart, its success driven by the platinum singles "Be Like That" and "Cool Again." 2021 brought plenty of recognition for the crossover country artist as he won "Video of the Year" at the ACM Awards for "Worldwide Beautiful," becoming the first black person to ever receive the award, and netted Number 1 hits with both "One Mississippi" and "Famous Friends." The following year, he charted another Number 1 country hit with "Like I Love Country Music," which was included on his third studio album, Different Man. After the release of "Blue Christmas" in 2022, Brown paired with his wife Katelyn on "Thank God (Spring Symphony)" in 2023. Other singles followed, before the dance duet with Marshmello on "Miles on It", ranked Number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100. The track was included in his fourth album The High Road (2025), containing other collaborations with Khalid, Jelly Roll and Brad Paisley.
