Biography

Known for his Top 10 country-pop hits "Singles You Up," "Take It from Me," "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot," and "Almost Maybes," singer/songwriter Jordan Davis was born on March 30, 1988, in Shreveport, Louisiana. His uncle, Stan Paul Davis, was a popular songwriter who penned the Tracy Lawrence hits "Today's Lonely Fool" and "Better Man, Better Off" during Jordan Davis' childhood. Looking to follow in his relative's footsteps, Davis attended college in Louisiana and moved to Nashville after graduation. Landing a record contract with MCA Nashville, he began working alongside producer Paul DiGiovanni, recording a number of songs that matched his sharp songwriting with a modern mix of country, R&B, pop, and hip-hop. The first of those songs, "Singles You Up," was released in 2017, peaking at Number 1 on both the US Country Airplay and Canadian Country charts. It went double-platinum in both countries. One year later, "Take It from Me" peaked at Number 2 in America and Number 4 in Canada, while 2019's "Slow Dance in a Parking Lot" became Jordan Davis' second chart-topping country hit (and third consecutive platinum-certified single) in America. All three tracks appeared on his full-length debut, Home State, which was released in 2018 and charted at Number 6 on Billboard's Top Country Albums. A self-titled EP, Jordan Davis, appeared in 2020 and cracked the Top 20 in America, thanks in part to the success of the gold-certified single "Almost Maybes." One year later, Davis returned with a second EP, Buy Dirt. The EP's title track found him duetting with country star Luke Bryan, and the song became this third Number 1 hit on the US Country Airplay chart. One year later, "What My World Spins Around" topped the same chart. The song doubled as the lead single from his second album, 2023's Bluebird Days, which reached Number on the US Top Country Albums chart and Number 14 on the Billboard 200. In 2024, Davis released singles "I Ain't Sayin'" (Number 58 on Billboard 200), "Bar None" (Number 73), and three other songs, ahead of the release of his third full-length, Learn the Hard Way (2025).
