Biography

The Blackout, a British post-hardcore band from Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, formed in 2003 under the initial name Ten Minute Preview. The group changed their name to The Blackout after a t-shirt referencing the 1977 New York City blackout and released their debut EP The Blackout! The Blackout! The Blackout! in October 2006, which garnered them recognition as "Best British Newcomer" by Kerrang!. In 2007, they published their first album We Are the Dynamite, followed by The Best in Town in 2009. Their third and fourth albums, Hope (2011) and Start the Party (2013), solidified their presence in the UK alternative rock scene. The Blackout toured extensively with notable acts such as Lostprophets, My Chemical Romance, and Blink-182. In December 2014, the band announced their disbandment, concluding with a farewell tour in 2015.
