Biography
Talisman is a Swedish hard rock band formed in 1989 by bassist Marcel Jacob and fronted by American singer Jeff Scott Soto. Their debut album Talisman (1990) was released on the Airplay/Vinyl Mania label, featuring the single "I'll Be Waiting" (1990), which reached number 2 on the Swedish singles chart. Their lineup included Jason Bieler on guitar, Jakob "Jake Samuel" Samuelsson on drums, and Thomas Vikström on keyboards and backing vocals. They released Genesis (1993), which sold over 15,000 copies in Sweden and garnered international interest. Their discography also includes the albums Humanimal (1994), Life (1995), Truth (1998), Cats and Dogs (2003), and 7 (2006). They dissolved prior to Marcel Jacob's death in 2009, but reunited several times for one-off shows and the releases of the songs "Never Die (A Song for Marcel)" (2019) and "Save Our Love" (2024).
