Theresa Beth Murphy (born Januaryâ¯18â¯1965, in Anaheim, California) is an American rapper and singer who first emerged in the late 1980s as a member of the dance group Bardeux, leaving after the release of their single "ThreeâTime Lover" in 1987. She was discovered by EazyâE and signed to his imprint Comptown Records, leading to the release of her debut solo album The Power of a Woman in 1990 on Ruthless Records, distributed by MCA Records, which included the singles "Murder She Wrote" and "Swingin' wit' T". In 1993 she recorded the unreleased album Single White Female, later issued in 2010, before shifting toward rapâmetal with the formation of Manhole, later renamed Tura Satana, producing All is Not Well (1996) and Relief Through Release (1997). She returned to hipâhop with Vintage Curses in 2015 and Feminenergy in 2020, the latter addressing social injustice and featuring collaborations with Mick Murphy and others. In 2023 she and her husband Mick Murphy released the single "Hellzapoppin'" under the band SWTEVL.
